Camelina Oil is a high omega 3 oil from the Camelina plant that is a powerful anti-inflammatory. It contains 36% Alpha Linolenic Acid which is the only omega 3 that has been deemed essential for horses and one of three that are essential for dogs. It’s the most stable omega oil due to naturally occurring vitamin E. Other oils typically add a chemical preservative – Dl-Alpha-Tocopherol which is synthetic vitamin E (only 50% potency vs. natural). When an omega oil loses viability, it becomes pro-inflammatory and may worsen symptoms, so stability is a key feature. Camelina oil has nothing added and does not require any processing to ‘clean’ the oil of possible contaminants.
